thunder/shadow conflicting over something..
shadowclan is dealing with the carrionplace getting developed, twoleg activity on their land. so theyre Already annoyed. prey is being chased out. maybe they try to take a little TC land.. bc their cats r HUNGRY.
thunder takes the opportunity to take sunningrocks.. the drought CHANGES the river when the water returns! thunder/river conflict; river calls in windclan to help, thunder is like YO and calls... shadowclan in, uneasily. they say "you can have This chunk of territory. if you help us get sunningrocks" SC decides.
windclan is a lil salty bc "you owe us so much and yet you still call us in to help? leader asks clan to decide, to vote; would be cool if WC was a little democracy-like.
first big 4-clan fight: in leaf-fall. a terrible wind racks the battlefield; roaring in every cat's ears. but it's really a 2v2; WC/RC allied, TC/SC allied.
whoever wins? the stakes fall onto them. if WC/RC wins, RC keeps sunningrocks and WC gets.. nothing. salty
- a fire pushes RIVERCLAN out of their territory, to windclan. their river is dry and they have to work together with windclan tunnelers (WHOA) to pile damp earth on the riverbanks to stop the fire from spreading across the territories to light up the moors. at the END of greenleaf, when a twoleg campfire goes rogue and catches light on their dry forest.
twolegs take over riverclan after, to "help" protect it. but it just makes more issues for riverclan.
TNR happens bc the workers see lots of feral cats scrambling, and send patrols there to patrol for cats to trap.

THIS causes RC to want to stay longer with WC , bc theyre 'scared' of being taken by twolegs.

if TC/SC wins, they keep sunningrocks and SC gets the land that includes snakerocks. thing is... thunderclan doesnt TELL them it's full of snakes. and SC finds out the HARD way when the first patrol goes there and two adders attack them. enraged, SC confronts TC by sending a patrol to their camp to wager for a better pick of land; one that isn't literally snake-infested. idk how that'll turn out.
would LOVE a shadowclan night ambush. ya ya edgy shadowclan but its literally their primary skillset: stealth and cunning. i could fix shadowclan. i could make them cool and not overly angsty, but cunning.but i REFUSE to mix with the WCRP shadowclan crowd. agony. angry with TC, they ambush their camp at night to give them a lesson. they do NOT attack elders or kits, only cats capable of defending themselves properly. or maybe they do! (: ... depending on the leader's politics.
oops. WINTER IS HERE. and the first snow is INSANE. like a foot on the ground, very cold and windy. windclan is having the worst of it, hardly able to walk on their territory without falling into drifts or holes. tunnelers need to take initiative ; a group reveals they've worked to create a "faux camp" in an underground area, near the gorge-ish. the clan lives there while the snow eventually thaws and melts.. but determine it's an ideal #2 spot when the clan is in danger. gives moor runners more appreciation for the tunnelers.
riverclan is fine. their rivers aren't frozen.. YET... but the fish are less frequent. fine for now, but notice an influx of WC scent on the borders-- because the easiest entrance to their #2 camp is near it. they ask about it confrontationally at the next gathering, and WC dismisses it - there's a rabbit warren near there. that's all they need to know - natural for patrols to be in that area more often to track them. RC shrugs it off... for now. but is still a little suspicious
SC ofc a rough time with snow in the swamp - mushy, icy terrain and mud makes for a lot of very cold and hungry/cranky cats. depending on outcome of the snakerocks/TC incident, they may have some incentive to take some WC land, since WC will be focusing a lot on the RC borders during their snow time.
at the halfmoon, med cats arrive at mothermouth to discover: oh fucking shit. oh god. the mothermouth is literally frozen over. snow has compacted so densely their digging is futile. the WC med thinks tunnelers can help, and goes home to ask a patrol to accompany them the next day to dig out mothermouth and make sure the whole passage is clear.
they are able to scrape through the snow.. but discover, to their horror, a larger rockfall has blocked the entrance beneath it. no one is able to talk to starclan - and starclan won't speak to them in dreams, either... at least, not the healers. WHOA... starclan cats talking to normal people!! NOT meds!!!
BUT. this info makes the clans anxious. already they're upset bc it's winter, they're hungry and cold and things aren't improving, and now they can't ask starclan for help. windclan is spread thin - as the "closest" to starclan, the moor runners go back to their original camp to be closer to mothermouth to better monitor it, and this puts a small rift between the tunnelers and moor runners. (this will be an IC vote - does the clan spread their forces, or stay together? or do some cats want to stay, some want to go?)
somehow, someway, it cultivates in another big battle this time at mothermouth - all 4 clans, a kind of free-for-all? or maybe just 2 clans. or 3. it can depend depending on how things roll out, which clans care most about not being able to talk to starclan.
for the first 3/4 of winter, mothermouth is frozen over. it only unblocks when a group of cats, in the midst of the great winter battle near the.. maybe idk, 3/4 of the way through the season, get a desperate feeling they NEED to go to mothermouth. maybe the fight is AT mothermouth? all the clans warring on the rocky peaks and frost.
a great roar shakes the sky and lightning strikes in the blizzard, hitting the rock avalanche and demolishing it - opening up the way to mothermouth once again.
